This was a simultaneously sobering and raucously fun read. It’s an age of dissonance. Bringing sports back would require a new level of execution to keep people safe. I don’t have a lot of faith in our capacity in that regard. Perhaps if owners concluded that uncontrolled outbreaks were bad for business. My sense is right now a lot of them are convinced that because the infection fatality rate is likely under 0.1, it’s all good. If their employees are getting infected and don’t have sick leave, I expect things to progress like an average Jets season: bad losses and no playoffs.
