The market has failed us in a variety of ways with COVID-19, including not incentivizing pandemic preparedness and domestic production of essential medical equipment. It similarly doesn’t appear to incentivize developing new antibiotics to combat ever-evolving bacteria. Coordinated international efforts to take on both COVID-19 and antibiotic-resistant bacteria would make a lot of sense. I’m sure Jared Kushner is all over it.
