Put me down for cardio as well as affordable quality healthcare for all. The ACA was indeed an improvement over the f*ck-you-if-you-have-a-precondition status quo. But it’s clearly not sufficient in a pandemic. I have a personal plan with a $6,000 deductible and got laid off as a result of COVID-19. Although even with my regular job I couldn’t reach that deductible without incurring huge credit card debt. My actual plan is to not get sick or hurt.
That said, I don’t expect the POTUS to have a replacement plan ready in case he wins in court. We saw from the last “option” the GOP put forward that they don’t care about people nearly as much as insurance company and healthcare system profits. That level of cynicism deserved its own article. So I wrote one.
