I've been watching the Florida numbers with a mix of curiosity and frustration. It's clear that the Governor's incentives are to underplay cases and deaths. And for the GOP the "best" play is likely to push for aggressive reopening and hope for the best. We don't know for sure what will happen, but they're likely looking at this from a political risk perspective. They're pretty much effed unless we get lucky this summer and fall and don't have big spikes in infections. So they're rolling the dice. And no doubt stacking the deck whenever possible in terms of data manipulation. Apologies for metaphor mixing. Thanks for this quality update!
