I’m a pragmatist. That makes me unwelcome in the GOP. I like to learn from my mistakes and others’ rather than double down on something guaranteed to fail. Like putting Jared Kushner in charge of anything. Or promoting abstinence-only sex ed. Or expanding the “war on drugs.” Or trying to boost the economy by increasing wealth concentration. Or scapegoating immigrants and building a physical barrier rather than addressing root causes of mass migration. Or defending for-profit healthcare and charter schools. Okay that’s enough for one night.
